Seattle - A dodgy pearl of the west coast

When I first time approached Seattle from the Alaskan highway it felt like if I was entering Gotham City. The grey sky above the tall skyscrapers in the horizont sort of tell you to "enter on your own responsebility". Once you have entered Seattle will welcome you with a warm embrace. This is not a Los Angeles, neither is it New York. This is an ancient pearl with mysteries and hidden places that need to be explored. The many streetmusicians will make sure to provide you with a city-soundtrack, reflecting the long history of rock'n'roll, which lay within the streets of seattle. You can sense the battle between indie-labels advocating for independency within musicprductions and the major hype that came with this wave of music-expression in the 90's.

Another sense being stimulated on the streets is not only your ears, but also your eyes and nose. The smell of coffie and cake will find you somehow! If you can't resist, I'll recommend you to enter the skyscraper "Columbia Tower" and then reach for the Starbucks Coffie on 45th floor. They serve decent coffie and the view is amazing. 

I'll update some more from Seattle, because it is certainly a city to explore.

Study abroad at PLU

It has now been one and a half month since I took the first step on American ground. Frankly I must say that this time has been the most magnificent time of my life as a collage student. My expectations when I came was high in many ways maning that I was excited to explore all aspects of how it was to be a danish student in America. Since my American major is in communication, I believe that my daily perspective on the school system, differs from others of my fellow students, who are mostly studying within business and economics (God save and protect them). Being involved with the American media press on a daily basis is giving me an oppurtunity to dig deeper into the complexity of American infrastructure. Enough said:

PLU it self is a small and cozy university with only 4.000 students. Located in the green area of Washington State in the city of Tacoma, makes it the most beautiful campus I've ever seen.  
Many students are living on a daily basis in one of the many student residence halls. American collagestudents are studying for 4 years to get their bachelor (which is different from danish students who normally have only 3 years). Many of them come directly from high school, which makes them really young compared to the age of danish university students. I'm 24 and I'm among the age-presidents of campus ! Many new students find it comfortableand safe to spend their first years in company with a roomie in ONE room. I've chosen to stay in a single dorm room, which I've been very satisfied with up to now.

Washington state is known as one of the states with the most rainy days. But as you can see, we also get to see the sun once a while. 

I met so many incredibily nice people while I've been here. It makes it easier to be away from everyone and everything you know, when you have good people around you. I really appreciate the diversity I've faced during the first time of my stay. One American guy asked me what I thought about Americans. I told him that the truth was that there was no simple answer to that. Americans are with no doubt the most diversed people I've ever seen. Besides Americans, I have also encountered many other wonderful people who are also in an exchange program like myself.You all know who you are.
